The Rise and Fall of Hornby Dublo

This DVD completed the trilogy in 2005 and has been the most popular of all three. The Meccano company started in the early 1920’s with Meccano kits and Hornby clockwork trains. But in 1938 they launched the much smaller electric Hornby Dublo table railway which started a highly successful range that continued in production until 1964.
This DVD explores so many aspects of this premier system and steadily charts its progress from the start and after the second world war. With expert interviews the reasons for its decline are examined. However, all is not sadness as the DVD beautifully highlights the range of models and the quality of the filming of private and exhibition layouts is a magnificent reminder of this highly influential model railway range.
